Sketchbook Chair

As part of a furniture design course, I was tasked with reinterpreting the iconic Red and Blue Chair by Gerrit Rietveld. Inspired by its flat planes and use of bold primary colors, I developed the concept for a “Sketchbook Chair.” The idea stemmed from my own sketchbook—filled with colorful studies and flat pages—which visually and conceptually echoed the structure of Rietveld’s design.

This project was a meaningful exploration of form, color, and personal inspiration. I thoroughly enjoyed the process, and it deepened my passion for furniture design—something I continue to explore through sketching and concept development in my free time.
